Texlive contains buggy version of beamer. See https://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/450957/cant-set-empty-title-page-background-after-beamer-upgrade.
Please update included version of beamer in texlive.

Steps to reproduce:

Try transparent background in beamer title pages.

I can't check it, because I have installed a newer version of beamer locally, as nothing happened here.
What version of Beamer is included in texlive-core 2018.49285-1?

The only information I have is from the git log: - upgrade package beamer 48547 -> 48706

You're the only one watching this ticket and it has no votes; if you're not willing to test, we might as well just close it.
