the eject program is missing in arch, that's the reason why you cannot eject cd's dvd zips etc using kde to eject the drives
it can be downloaded under

[root@eng5008 gnome25]# pacman -Qo `which eject`
/usr/bin/eject is owned by eject 2.0.13-1

I don't know where you're talking about :P
