DetailsThe issue I observed earlier with EXA freezing X turns out to be a known bug:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7639 There are two patches there, I *think* the one we want is this: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=6002 Apparently there's also another major bug: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7639 How this one should be fixed is contested, but a patch is available. At any rate, EXA will (supposedly) actually work with those two problems fixed, though I'm sure it will still be quite buggy enough. Finally, there is a minor bug which hampers compositing performance: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7671 There's a patch for this one too, though I'm not sure it's worth applying it. |

None of these patches have been approved by the developers and EXA is still marked as experimental. Therefore I won't apply them for the Xorg 7.1 series anymore.

Does this one still apply to xorg 7.2?

Nope, fixed in 7.2.
