It is my understanding that `archlinux/base`"
<https://hub.docker.com/r/archlinux/base/> is Arch
Linux's official Docker image.
It is also my understanding that `archlinux/base` is built from <https://github.com/archlinux/archlinux-docker/>. There is very little information on the Docker Hub page, and I think that more information should be added. Questions that I, as a user, think should be answered on the Docker Hub page: - Is this the official image of Arch Linux? - Where can I review the Dockerfile (and associated assets) that created this? (The GitHub page links to the Docker Hub page, but not the other way around) Some notes about answering those: - Some images (like `fedora` <https://hub.docker.com/r/library/fedora/>) are marked "official". It would be nice if `archlinux/base` were to be marked official, especially given the "competing" `base/archlinux` image that also shows up in search. - Some images (like `jwilder/nginx-proxy` <https://hub.docker.com/r/jwilder/nginx-proxy/>) have a "Dockerfile" tab where you can view the Dockerfile right there in-browser. - Some images (like `jwilder/nginx-proxy` <https://hub.docker.com/r/jwilder/nginx-proxy/>) have a "Source Repository" infobox on the right with a link to the Git repository. I'm not terribly familiar with authoring to Docker Hub, so I'm not sure what's required to make use of any of those 3 features. |

The one you've mentioned is an intermediate generated by Arch folks and used by Docker to create the image that is marked official.
