Details

Description:
A Kernel Panic occurs on shutdown / reboot since the 4.18.16 after using qemu during the session.
The computer shuts down fine if no virtual machine has been launched.

Steps to reproduce:
- Normal boot
- Login
- Use KVM / qemu
- Execute poweroff or reboot

Additional info:
* linux 4.18.16
* qemu 3.0.0-3

The issue is very similar to this one: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/56707

Downgrading to linux 4.18.14 fixes the issue.

Still an issue with the 4.19.x kernels?

Hi Doug,

Thanks for your answer. I would rather not switch to testing to install linux 4.19.x, so I'll wait for it to be available on core.

Do you know if there is a roadmap soemwhere regarding kernel updates on the core repo ?

No roadmap, it happens when the maintainer feels it's ready.

If you're not using any out of tree modules, you can just download and install the kernel package alone.
