the kdmrc file is overwritten after updating kdebase

my suggestion:
add a file that is called kdmrc.sample like samba.sample where all parameters are described (to know that automatic login from network is possible etc.), you can take the default kdmrc for this.
If you update kdebase respect the old kdmrc and make a file kdmrc.pacman.new for example

other solution setting /opt/kde/share/config/kdm/kdmrc in pacman.conf to the list of files which are not upgraded

i can add kdmrc to be backuped, if a update is made ... but the new version will be used, if you do not add it to pacman.conf to be ignored

sounds ok to you?

backup=('/opt/kde/share/config/kdm/kdmrc') -> kdebase
