DetailsDescription:
Currently CUDA hardware decoding is not working. During configuration when compiling mpv the "Checking for CUDA hwaccel" step fails with "ffnvcodec not found". When ffnvcodec-headers is installed on the system during compilation, the configuration step doesn't fail and CUDA hardware decoding works. Please add ffnvcodec-headers to the make dependencies. I noticed this due to https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/issues/5978#issuecomment-414055277 Tested with mpv 1:0.29.0-1 |

Can confirm that this broke a few versions back. Rebuilding with ffnvcodec-headers installed indeed fixes it!
