Description:
============

gdm 3.30.1-1 fails to honor "settings" like the session choice from last successful login, and the profile picture.

I'm not sure the regression lies exactly in 3.30.1-1.
What I'm sure about is that the initial gdm 3.30.x release ( 3.30.0+2+gef231c27-1 ) didn't exhibit the problem, so looking at https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/log/trunk?h=packages/gdm , the regression happened in one of releases [ 3.30.0+4+g839c9501-1 , 3.30.0+6+g5db19c5b-1 , 3.30.1-1 ]

I'm not the only affected user: https://www.reddit.com/r/gnome/comments/9jkbaf/gdm_suddenly_ignores_my_settings/

Additional info:
================

* gdm 3.30.1-1 x86_64
* Config: none; my /etc/gdm/ directory is default/untouched
* Log: the last entry of `journalctl -u 'gdm*'` is:

-- Reboot --
Sep 28 06:41:48 t systemd[1]: Starting GNOME Display Manager...
Sep 28 06:41:48 t systemd[1]: Started GNOME Display Manager.
Sep 28 06:41:49 t gdm-launch-environment][642]: accountsservice: Could not get current seat: No data available
Sep 28 06:41:57 t gdm-password][897]: accountsservice: Could not get current seat: No data available
Sep 28 06:42:09 t gdm-password][897]: pam_unix(gdm-password:session): session opened for user ronj by (uid=0)

* Feel free to ask for more logs/info.

Steps to reproduce:
===================

1. Login to Gnome using Xorg session.
2. Using Gnome's control center, set a user account picture
3. Reboot machine

Expected:

- GDM offers by default Xorg session and displays user account picture.

Actual:

- GDM offers by default Wayland session and displays placeholder user account picture.
