Description:
Hi,

After updating texlive-core, I discovered that I was no longer able to produce transparent
backgrounds of the title using the beamer package. After doing some research, I discovered that
this was due to a upstream bug which was fixed here:

https://github.com/josephwright/beamer/issues/494

(Sorry that it isn't a clickable link, but I couldn't figure out how to do that)

However, it would be very helpful if this package could include a fix, such as the one proposed here:

https://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/450957/cant-set-empty-title-page-background-after-beamer-upgrade

since it would be really nice to be able to have a non-white background on the title page.

cheers,
jfe

Sorry guys, I just thought I would save the bug report to see how it looks and didn't realize that I wasn't allowed to change it. Could someone with the correct permissions assign this to the package "texlive-core" and delete the unnecessary lines at the bottom?

Thanks and sorry again,
jfe

Beamer v3.54 is included in texlive-core 2018.49285
(the upstream issue was fixed in beamer v3.53)
