Hi there,

We are a new mirror in New Zealand serving up many different flavours of free software and would love to be included as an official Arch Linux mirror.

Plan is to start off as a Tier 2 until we can demonstrate acceptable uptime to be meet the requirements of a Tier 1 mirror. We run an anycast HA cluster across multiple sites in New Zealand so expect to be able to meet the uptime requirements of a Tier 1.

Here are our details:

Mirror domain name: mirror.fsmg.org.nz
Geographical location of the mirror: New Zealand
URLs for supported access methods: (http|https|rsync)://mirror.fsmg.org.nz/archlinux/
Your mirror's available bandwidth: 1 Gbps
An administrative contact email: mirror-operators@fsmg.org.nz
The name of tier 1 mirror you are syncing from: mirror.internode.on.net

Thanks,
Brad

Thanks, I've added your mirror. I'm keeping this open for tier 1 in the future. We don't currently have a tier 1 in New Zealand so this sounds like a good idea. Thanks for the offer!

Hi Florian,

It's been a while but just wanted to check back and see if you were happy for us to progress to a tier 1 mirror now?

I've promoted you to tier 1.

Please switch to one of the *_tier1 modules on "rsync://rsync.archlinux.org". You'll probably want "rsync://rsync.archlinux.org/ftp_tier1". Reply here once you've switched so I can close this request.

Based on DNS I've whitelisted 163.7.134.112 and [2404:138:4000::]. If you use other IPs for connections to our rsync master please tell me so I can adjust the whitelist.

If you want to sync more often than once an hour, please consider using a script like this[1] to reduce the amount of rsync traffic when there are no changes.

Thanks for that, I'll work on getting us switched over now.

Could you also add our individual rsync nodes to the whitelist:

hlzmel.fsmg.org.nz has address 163.7.134.121
hlzmel.fsmg.org.nz has IPv6 address 2404:138:134:120::2
brad@zilch /tmp> host wlglam.fsmg.org.nz
wlglam.fsmg.org.nz has address 163.7.134.123
wlglam.fsmg.org.nz has IPv6 address 2404:138:134:122::2

Great. I just kicked off the first rsync from rsync.archlinux.org::ftp_tier1 and all seems to be working.

Thank you!
