Description:
The package contains a FreeMono font which has a graphical bug described here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ttf-freefont/+bug/246164
The bug has since been fixed, but Arch still has only the 2012 version and it is Orphaned.
Still, the package was automatically installed for firefox-developer-edition see attached pacman log.

Please remove the package from the list of packages that provide ttf-font, give it a low priority, or simply remove it altogether.

Additional info:
Attached are pacman logs/outputs (i later installed ttf-dejavu)
Possibly relevant remove request for this package: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/58751

Steps to reproduce:
Open a page in firefox with monospace code, maybe even force the fonts to be FreeMono. It will be much brighter than even FreeSans.

Reason for closing:  Not a bug
Additional comments about closing:  User requested: Sorry, the bug is older than the current package version, and happens with other fonts too (Nimbus Mono PS). I will have to look into font hinting. I am using Gnome btw.
