DetailsI don't really understand, why pacman and abs / cvsup can't make usage of a proxy. While I can handle pacman in adding wget configurations, I can't do with abs. Furthermore, abs / cvsup can't adress the servers via http ports, so I would have to open the firewall on port 5999.
Was it possible to have a main proxy configuration in rc.conf, so all archlinux package services like abs and pacman could use it? Was it further possible to have an option to use abs in 'firewalled environments' with http ports, like 8080? Thanks, with kind regards. |

Additional comments about closing: pacman3 supports both http and ftp proxies. cvsup cannot support proxies at all.

BTW, it would be nice to have the possibility to use csup instead of cvsup in abs.
