Details

After installing GParted the menu entry created in Gnome is without the gksu prefix. GParted is only able to be run with root permissions and so the entry is useless without editing it.

No thanks, I don't want a gksu dependency for gparted.

good point Jens.

also, each user may have a different preference for graphical interface to su, i do believe there is more than one.

is there any graphical su interface which has minimal deps?

Not sure if it would work, but perhaps a script with xdialog and sudo?

agree that there should be one *su command be put in front of the menu entry.
but make gksu only an optional dep. recommend to install it in a post.install comment.

But then menu entry will work only with those *su command that are written in .desktop file, so it doesn't make much sense to make that gksu dependency optional, or am I missing something? :-/
