So far you seem to be the only one with that error. There's no change in file ownership between the packages. Just the security fixes.

Feel free to build 9.24rc1 or latest git master to check if it solves your issue.

I'm also affected.

Downgrading ghostscript fixes the issue.

Please try 9.24rc2 in testing repo. If it is still broken please report this upstream to the gs bugtracker and probably also to the gs-devel mailing list to the rc related thread.

This should be fixed in ghostscript 9.24rc3:

Please test final 9.24 release in testing repo.

Still broken for me.

$pacman -Qi ghostscript
Name : ghostscript
Version : 9.24-1

So, downgrading to 9.23 is the only option for now :(

cups is working flawlessly on my machine with ghostscript 9.24-1, using Foomatic/pxlmono.

So there is a bug with hplip as I'm using an HP printer. Try to rebuild hplip against Ghostscript 9.24 and I'll see what will happen.

Edit: still broken with hplip rebuilt against ghostscript 9.24... Looks like I have to downgrade and "hold" this package until a fix is working for HPLIP.

Please report this back to the Ghostscript Devs - the above Cups upstream issue could be a good place to push it!
Comment by Frederic Bezies (fredbezies) - Tuesday, 04 September 2018, 13:09 GMT
Well, bug reported upstream : https://github.com/apple/cups/issues/5394

Same issue here with v9.24-1 and a Samsung CLX6220 duplex laser - installed via ppd file. Downgrade to v 9.23 fixes this for us.

Here is an output I was asked for:

fred@fredo-arch-mate ~ % gs -dSAFER -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH -sOutputFile=%stdout -sDEVICE=cups -dcupsColorSpace=17 -c "showpage"

That last issue should be fixed in 9.24-2 in testing repo.

Indeed it is fixed. In cups web interface, when I asked to print a test page, my printer works.

Another bug bites the dust :)
