Details

Currently, core/linux has core/linux-firmware as a hard dependency. However, the latter is not always needed. For example, in a virtual machine of when the hardware does not require any additional firmware blobs. Moreover, linux-firmware is quite large -- about 300 MB. To get rid of it, right now the only way is to do pacman -Rdd and then always update with --assume-installed linux-firmware...

So, is it possible to make linux optionally depend on linux-firmware and include the latter in the base group? This way, both will be installed as a part of a new installation, but later l-f could be cleanly removed.
