Description:
In Blender VSE, when rendering a video with AAC as audio codec for output, the rendering fails with an "Unsupported channel layout" error from ffmpeg.

Additional info:

- ffmpeg 1:4.0.2-2

The issue actually began 3 months ago, with the update to ffmpeg 4.0.

Can you report an upstream issue?

I checked Blender's sources beforehand, and i just saw they changed the ffmpeg dependency to version 4.0.2.

I'll try their latest dev version a bit, to see if they handled the AAC issue.

In that case, I don't see a point in tracking this downstream. Blender will fix it and then we'll have the fix at some point.
