Since Arch stores all of its stuff in /opt rather than /usr/local you need to symlink to the folder with the icons in /opt when you upgrade xfce to version 4.4 otherwise very few icons will appear.

Ah, that's why I have so little icons. Thank you for tip.
This must be a bug in xfce4-icon-theme-4.3.99.2-1, I suppose.

Oh, but I don't have any icons in /usr/local.
Do you mean that /opt/xfce4/share/icons should be /usr/share/icons instead? I didn't understand you. :-/

BTW :
[root@server hicolor]# ls -R /usr/share/icons/hicolor | grep png
cups.png
cups.png
cups.png
vmware-player.png
vmware-workstation.png
application-x-vmware-snapshot.png
application-x-vmware-team.png
application-x-vmware-vm.png
application-x-vmware-vmdisk.png
application-x-vmware-vmfoundry.png
gnome-mime-application-x-vmware-snapshot.png
gnome-mime-application-x-vmware-team.png
gnome-mime-application-x-vmware-vm.png
gnome-mime-application-x-vmware-vmdisk.png
gnome-mime-application-x-vmware-vmfoundry.png
cups.png

while there is another /opt/xfce4/share/icons/hicolor tree.
And I cannot see hicolor icon theme in Xfce settings.
pacman -Ql hicolor-icon-theme shows only empty directories, is it OK?

Forgive me, this was the first bug report I ever wrote up in my life.

Roman Kyrylych, yea, you are right not /usr/local but /usr/share/icons

I wrote this bug report before I fixed it myself and I can't seem to get it working. I have a symlink /opt/xfce4/share/icons/hicolor and /opt/xfce4/share/icons/Rodent in the /usr/share/icons folder but I still only have a few icons.

Either way, we can all see the the icons dissapear.

I changed bug report title to reflect the issue better.
While original description is not correct, there is issue with many icons missing with only Rodent icon theme installed.

Thanks Roman ^_^.

Did you find a way to fix it?
