The newly released ddclient 3.9.0 fails to start with the following error: Can't locate Data/Validate/IP.pm in @INC (you may need to install the Data::Validate::IP module) (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/5.28/site_perl /usr/share/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/5.28/vendor_perl /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib/perl5/5.28/core_perl /usr/share/perl5/core_perl) at /usr/bin/ddclient line 27. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/ddclient line 27. It needs package perl-data-validate-ip, which is currently on the AUR, as seen here: https://github.com/ddclient/ddclient/blob/v3.9.0/ddclient#L27 https://github.com/ddclient/ddclient/commit/62c6460784b9bb738f3a7e289302e8573320954c#diff-bbaf0dd5285f4a352ef8f0e395bf6ad3 ddclient runs fine after installing this package. Got the same issue. Installing perl-data-validate-ip from AUR solved it.

Thanks for reporting. This just bit me tonight as well. I appreciate the info on the AUR package needed, I was able to get it installed to get ddclient back on it's feet. Definitely would be good to have it supported in the main repositories so not everyone using ddclient (main repository) has to go use AUR just to get it working.
