DetailsWhen python-secretstorage was changed to a split package, the python2-secretstorage built was included, also built from the same code.
The documentation says that versions >=3.x doesn't support Python 2 anymore[0]. And indeed, when you build the package, you get syntax errors in the Python 2 build with the 3.x code. This should definitively not be a split package, and I'm confused why it is given we explicitly dropped it -- and all its reverse dependencies -- precisely due to dropping python2 support.
