DetailsOpen up a gnome-terminal or xterm and press F2 or F3 or F4. To get better results, start a 2nd bash and do it then, since you'll see the segfault message than.
This bug affects 2.05b on multiple linux distributions and on multiple architectures (even Mac OS X is having this problem). The only machines I have in reach without this problem are a chrooted LFS install on my arch server and some debian woody machines with 2.05a. The fix I applied to my LFS chroot is this one: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/patches/lfs/5.0/bash-2.05b-2.patch I also noticed these 7 patches were not applied in the PKGBUILD, I think they fix the same problems the LFS patch does (I also noticed there's a patch for something the LFS patch didn't patch, the directoryname completion) ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/bash/bash-2.05b-patches/ I think we should have those 7 patches applied in the bash package to get rid of these bugs. |
