PyCUDA uses "async" as a parameter to many functions in gpuarray.py, but this is a reserved keyword as of Python 3.7. Oddly, this was fixed by https://github.com/inducer/pycuda/commit/d88b683e but the branch containing that commit has not been merged or updated since last year.
