Steps to reproduce:
systemctl start ddclient

Jul 25 16:01:39 tauron systemd[1]: Starting Dynamic DNS Update Client...
Jul 25 16:01:40 tauron systemd[1]: ddclient.service: Can't open PID file /var/run/ddclient.pid (yet?) after start: No such file or directory
Jul 25 16:01:40 tauron systemd[1]: ddclient.service: Failed with result 'protocol'.
Jul 25 16:01:40 tauron systemd[1]: Failed to start Dynamic DNS Update Client.

Online I found a service file which explicitly started ddclient with the --pid option: https://paste.xinu.at/95g0I5/ With this everything works, but not sure if that's an ideal solution.
