Since updating to mutter 3.28.3 I run into an error when I try to rotate my third monitor 90 degrees in the Gnome monitor settings of a Wayland session. If I try to do it while gnome shell is running, I get the CRTC mode error message spammed in the logs and when I reboot, the displays freeze just after login. The mentioned configuration works with Xorg.

Upstream issue with a fix and more info: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/issues/216

I can confirm that screen rotation is broken on mutter 3.28.3 on my convertible laptop. Fixed by upstream with https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/merge_requests/175
