Description:

I'm trying to use evince from Flathub [1], but in GNOME Shell its launcher is "shadowed" by the host-installed one. The problem is that package xdg-desktop-portal-gtk optdepends on evince for print preview, so I need a host-installed evince for that feature.

In fact, only evince-previewer is necessary for print preview, so I thought that maybe it could be split into its own package and xdg-desktop-portal-gtk would depend on it and I would not need a host-installed evince. What do you think?

Thanks for your efforts!

You should be able to craft a wrapper script (to be placed in your PATH) for the flatpak'd evince-previewer like this:

#!/bin/sh
exec flatpak run --command=evince-previewer org.gnome.Evince "$@"
