DetailsDescription:
According to the changelog[1], virtualbox supports python3 since at least version 5.1.0, which was released on July 12 2016. Since version 5.1.26, which was released on July 27 2017, they provide python3 libraries for deb/rpm packages. Would it be possible to use python3 for virtualbox in Arch as well? I did the necessary changes for virtualbox 5.2.12-2 to make it build against python3, but I had issues with the cross-compilation, so the attached patch is unfortunately untested so far.
