Description:

Blender from community has been rendering ceiling and floor transparent using principled shader. Cheging the transmission value to 1 may fix it on occasion, but there's no consistency. At a similar time, cuda is throwing errors. eg. CUDA error: Misaligned address in cuCtxSynchronise(), line 1712.

The CUDA error is not consistent.

Downloading from buildbot exhibits none of these problems, and so it's clearly something to do with the way it's being packaged. This started with the last two - three updates.

Additional info:
* package version(s) 7:2.79.b.git2.0385b33f-16
* config and/or log files etc. Nothing to report

Steps to reproduce:

Render a complex scene on GPU. I can't add an attachment, since the scene it's most noticable on is much larger than the 2Mb max.
This task depends upon

To add - the file most affected is 92Mb. If any maintainer wants me to send it privately, I'm happy to.

There is nothing here that lets me think its a packaging error. We package blender and cuda in a rather vanilla way. Do you have any evidence that this is indeed a packaging problem?

I don;t suspect it's a CUDA issue so much as a Blender issue (and the way that Blender is packaged).

This is borne out by blender from buildbot working fine, whilst the "errors" are with blender from the repository.

As I say, I'm happy to provide the file exhibiting this most, which renders fine with buildbot, but the file is rather large.

Thank you. Had to wait for the repository to update, but blender-17:2.79.b.git3.32432d91-1 has fixed it.
