extra/ttf-freefont and extra/gnu-free-fonts are, respectively, the TTF and OTF versions of the GNU FreeFont package which contains the FreeMono, FreeSans, and FreeSerif typefaces. Neither the names nor the descriptions of the two packages make it clear that they contain the same set of typefaces in two different formats. Furthermore, the URLs in the packages' metadata are different, and ttf-freefont has its license set to GPL when it should be GPL3.

I haven't used freefont in ages; now it's orphaned and it can be:
- fixed by any other dev that has an interest in maintaining it
- purged in the next cleanup and maintained in the AUR

Kick it out to AUR IMO. I'll maintain the OTF version for a while longer.

Great. I'll contact the maintainers of x42-plugins, python2-matplotlib and python-matplotlib and move ttf-freefont to the AUR when those don't depend on it.

ttf-freefont was dropped and replaced by gnu-free-fonts [1] which provides it [2]. As there is only one package now, there is no inconsistency.
