Additional info:
* package version: 2.0.1-1 (as of https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/community.git/commit/trunk?h=packages/fabric&id=a5f9b344ac7ab9338ecbb71df2d919f8190b1850)

Steps to reproduce:
Running fab -l crashes with a dependency error:

pkg_resources.DistributionNotFound: The 'invoke<2.0,>=1.0' distribution was not found and is required by fabric

Fabric 2.0+ depends on: https://github.com/pyinvoke/invoke (which doesn't look like it's yet in the arch repositories but is in the aur: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/invoke/)

Additionally, it may be desirable to also provide python2-fabric if possible.

I can confirm this issue.
I am maintaining the invoke package on AUR and it is a low maintenance package (split for python 2/3). Feel free to move it into [community].

I am trying to port my fabfiles to this new version and I just learned that a lot of the very useful functions that were previously built-in have now been split into a separate mid-level library called patchwork[1] which is almost an essential requirement IMHO.

Please consider also including it or I can create a package myself if you prefer.

I updated the fabric package with the new dependencies (I also added the optional patchwork library).

I don't intend to maintain a python2 variant of fabric, sorry.
If you need it I suggest you add it to the AUR.
