Evolution version evolution-2.8:16165

When I try to save an attachment the save dialog doesn't have my home directory in it as is usually does. If I try to save to ~/file evolution crashes with the following error:

(evolution-2.8:16165): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_file_system_unix_get_info: assertion `g_path_is_absolute (filename)' failed

Gtk-ERROR **: file gtkfilechooserdefault.c: line 7772 (gtk_file_chooser_default_should_respond): assertion failed: (path != NULL)
aborting...

If I click the filesystem button then browse to my home directory the file saves fine.

I've had it happen to me too.

JGC, didn't you find a patch for this?
Comment by Jan de Groot (JGC) - Monday, 16 April 2007, 18:07 GMT
Does this still happen? You reported it against 2.8, now we're at 2.10, and if I would have found a patch for it, it would come from SVN, which is included with 2.10.

Come to think about it, I haven't had it happen recently and can't seem to get it to do it now.
Looks like it was fixed upstream.

Haven't repeated this one.

Not sure if it is related but a couple of times I've had the following problem:

logged in as a normal user but running a gnome app, click save and the dialog box flicks very quickly between wide and then narrow. The box still works if you can hit the button at the right time but it is anoying!
