Description:
gcc-libs does not contain libasan.a. this file is required for static asan, and is packaged by debian https://packages.debian.org/search?searchon=contents&keywords=libasan.a&mode=path and fedora https://apps.fedoraproject.org/packages/libasan-static. they package it separately, I guess Arch should package it together? or not, idrc, but it breaks my workflow to have it not exist at all.

Additional info:
* package version(s)

gcc{,-libs} 7.3.1+20180312-2

* config and/or log files etc.

Steps to reproduce:
gcc -fsanitize=address -static-libasan anything.c

Reason for closing:  Not a bug
Additional comments about closing:  Arch, as a rule, doesn't include static libs
