DetailsDescription:
The common beat fields are missing from the field.xml provided. (Those: https://github.com/elastic/beats/blob/master/libbeat/_meta/fields.common.yml) When doing a simple install with elasticSearch, kibana and Heartbeat I get an error when trying to create a indexPattern: "The indices which match this index pattern don't contain any time fields." Following a discussion on the elasticSearch forum (https://discuss.elastic.co/t/archlinux-package-missing-commons-beat-fields-like-timestamp-in-template/127893) it seems that the file /etc/heartbeat/fields.xml isn't generated correctly on packaging as it should include the common fields. This also applies to other beats package Additional info: * package version(s): 6.2.3 Steps to reproduce: 1. install elasticSearch, kibana and heartbeat following the getting started documentation 2. startup everything 3. in kibana go to manage index and add a new index pattern on "heartbeat-*" The error message "The indices which match this index pattern don't contain any time fields." Is shown at that time in the console you can also do a "GET _template", the @timestamp field won’t be present as it should. |
