Description:
It looks like beignet, the open source OpenCL implementation for Intel IvyBridge+ iGPUs (https://01.org/beignet), has been superseded. Quoting the beignet website: "Starting in Q1’2018, Beignet has been deprecated in favor of NEO OpenCL driver (https://01.org/compute-runtime)."

Additional comments about closing:  Beignet is staying.
Neo/Compute Runtime [community] addition is waiting for upstream to merge their patches for LLVM/Clang and to start making releases for igc and gmmlib. You can use the package from AUR in the meantime.

I’ll look into packaging it, but beignet will stay for now at least: https://github.com/intel/compute-runtime#supported-platforms.

Thanks! I too think they should stay in parallel because of HW support and surely different bugs / trade-offs in one and the other.

Currently, most required dependencies are missing official release. I’ll ask them about this ASAP, but this is currently a blocker.
