Detailsxdg-utils creates unneeded Gnome 2 specific hidden directories (~/.gnome/apps) in user's home directory. Upstream keeps it that way for compatibility with enterprise distros that still ship Gnome 2. Since Gnome 2 in Arch is long gone, consider including the patch from this bug report: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90775
