DetailsWhen I try to save a stream in Kaffeine, a weird error pops up:
"input_rip: error opening file ????"??e/darwin/beryl-capture-1.avi: No such file or directory" I think input_rip cannot open the destination file because it reads (or sees) "/home/darwin/beryl-capture-1.avi" as "????"??e/darwin/beryl-capture-1.avi". I even tried saving it in a remote location but the same problem occurs. I've confirmed that this problem does not occur in Kubuntu 6.06: KDE 3.5.5, Kaffeine 0.8.2, libxine 1.1.1 that is why I concluded that this is a packaging bug (or even a xine-lib upstream/packaging bug since input_rip is from xine-lib). I've also confirmed this problem in another Arch box. I already tried rebuilding xine-lib and kaffeine (against the newly rebuilt xine-lib); both from ABS. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open any video with Kaffeine 2. File -> Save Stream 3. Save. |
This task depends upon
xine: join rip input plugin
input_http: content length = 2987036 bytes
xine: found input plugin : http input plugin
xine: The specified save_dir "(/è e/damir/tmp" might be a security risk.
200 frames delivered, 1 frames skipped, 0 frames discarded
xine: found demuxer plugin: ASF demux plugin
input_http: content length = 2987036 bytes
xine: found input plugin : http input plugin
xine: found demuxer plugin: AVI/RIFF demux plugin
xine: found input plugin : file input plugin
and it gives me the same input_rip error opening destination.
it looks as if encoding used by input_rip is wrong. do you know how to try to reproduce this directly in xine? so that we can check if it is a kaffeine problem or a xinelib problem.

when i start kaffeine with another LANG, i get not longer this strange error, but another one:
input_ipd: Fehler beim Öffnen der Datei ± e/damir/tmp/Eiffelturm_h.wmv: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden
xine: Join rip Plugin
input_http: Inhaltslänge = 2987036 bytes
xine: Inputplugin gefunden: http Plugin

xine: Inputplugin gefunden: http Plugin
xine: Demultiplexer-Plugin gefunden: ASF demux plugin

so it's definitely a encoding problem... but what is causing it?

Ubuntu 6.10, openSUSE 10.2, and Fedora Core 6 users are also experiencing this problem:

http://www.nabble.com/--can't-'save-stream'-audio-in-Suse-10.2-t3548569.html
I have a very similar problem and I think it's a bug caused by kaffeine.
I have the System: SuSE Linux 10.2 i386 and kaffeine 0.8.4.
"Der angegebene Ordner existiert nicht oder ist nicht lesbar" (German)
engl: The required folder doesn't exist or isn't readable
Then I can choose where to copy the file.
When I chose the place and pressed save, then it gives me 2 warnings of xine-errors: a Security warnig, which says: the given save_dir may be a problem.
and an error which says that the required source doesn't exist.
After selecting a location to save the stream:
Requested resource does not exist (/home/glenn/Downloads/100-dagen.wmv#save:/home/glenn/100-dagen.wmv)
Detailed output:
