DetailsSince the update to gnome 3.28 I can't input characters requiring more than 1 button press (like ` + a for à,...) in the password field using the "German (Austria)" keyboard layout.

I forgot to mention that it's possible to work around this problem using the on-screen keyboard.

This debian bugreport seems to be related: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=893567

This bug has been fixed (since 3.28.1 I think).

this bug seems to have returned in 3.36

This appears to be fixed in 3.36.0-3, with the includes the patch from https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/issues/2341
