In the stats I see that your mirror's delay behaves strangely. It sometimes jumps between different values. Is it correct if I assume that you run 4 servers and each of them synchronizes on its own? The idea behind the different tiers of mirror is to reduce the load on our central server. If you sync everything from 4 machines that adds 4 times the load of a single server. We already have 2 tier 1 mirrors in China and while I think a third one would be ok, I don't want to add 4.

There's only 1 physical server. The reason why the delay jumps, is because we sync from tuna.tsinghua.edu.cn(tier1), which has 2 servers behind their loadblance. Their 2 servers don't have same delay. This is also another reason why we want to be tier1.

The 4 ip I provided are just 4 vlan in different AS. I can't guarantee which one will be used to connect tier0. We may change the outgoing route based on the network quality.

In that case.... I've promoted you to tier 1.

Please switch to one of the *_tier1 modules on "rsync://rsync.archlinux.org". You'll probably want "rsync://rsync.archlinux.org/ftp_tier1". Reply here once you've switched so I can close this request.

If you want to sync more often than once an hour, please consider using a script like this[1] to reduce the amount of rsync traffic when there are no changes.

We now synced from rsync://rsync.archlinux.org/ftp_tier1, once an hour.
Thanks!
