Description:
gnome-terminal 3.28.0 requires vte3 version 0.52.0, but the dependency isn't versioned in the arch package.

Currently, vte3-ng in [community] provides vte3 version 0.50.2.

Therefore, user may end up having gnome-terminal 3.28.0 installed with older vte3-ng, which prevents gnome-terminal from starting, according to this post in forums: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=235661

We don't do versioned dependencies. Partial upgrades are not supported. The problem is with vte3-ng which isn't updated to 0.52 codebase yet.

If vte3-ng can't keep up with vte3 it should be removed.

At the very least, vte3-ng should not provide vte3 if it's not binary compatible.
