This is an intentional change:

https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/commit/trunk?h=packages/libreoffice-fresh&id=d3c71af3b465f3328f5f602a3b6521f786fac9f1

The report builder has an ugly tree of java dependecies and isn't widely used. If you rely on it feel free to use upstream binary based builds.

Ok. Thanks for your hint.

Still one question: Why do you believe that the report builder "isn't widely used". It has become an integral part of LO meanwhile. You need it to design your reports within base. And you need it to open the reports. Without the builder you cannot use your reports furthermore. And therefore the base part of the LO package will be useless for those who "rely on" the report feature of base.

The report builder has been removed from LibO-fresh 5 months ago and from still branch 5 weeks ago and until now no complains.
So you seem to be the first and only one here who used to use it. Also Gentoo doens't include it.

Can you use this extension: https://extensions.libreoffice.org/extensions/basereportextension ?

My three databases that I use daily contain a couple of reports. I followed the instructions in the official manual, https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/images/e/e7/BH5006-Reports.pdf. I spent hours to design my reports for my database apps. Quotation from the before mentioned hand book: "This chapter will deal exclusively with the Report Builder since it allows much more extensive customization." True to the motto "Never change a running system" and due to special recipes in my reports (sql queries, star basic code) I am afraid of changing to an extension where the latest version was released two years ago. Thus my honest answer to your question is: Possibly I can use the extension but at the moment I am not prepared to make use of it.
I understand your aim to provide slim packages. And I also follow your argument of the "ugly tree" of java dependencies. And of course you can save time by dropping the ugly tree from your build. On the other hand, let me quote again from the handbook, since LibreOffice 4.1, the Report Builder has been fully integrated and no longer appears under Extensions. And for users like me it's absolutely necessary to use this fully integrated function. What are my alternatives: Generate my own PKGBUILD file in order to avoid bypassing pacman - I already took a look on the official one, holy moly, although I would mark my person as advanced linux user, I am not sure if I can succeed. Flatpak-Version? Unfortunately only LO fresh is available for flatpak, not LO still (I prefer stable versions). The only solution actually is to use the AppImage-Version of LO still besides your package. But hope dies last. Maybe a compromise: fresh without still with report builder?

The -fresh branch is the playground and means testing. Once a new fresh branch is out the old one becomes the new -still package without further changes. So I won't bring back untested stuff to the still package. The above commit removing the report builder should be easy to revert and do you own custom build. It just takes time and space to compile it.

Or you test libreoffice-fresh-rpm from AUR or create your own rpm based one based on the -still branch.

Ok. I see: Your decision is incontestable. Nevertheless: Thanks again for your quick answers.
