Details

Description: When installing Angband 4.1.2-1 from [community] and starting it in x11 mode, I get: "angband: Couldn't load the requested font. (10x20)". It does start in sdl (angband -msdl) and Text mode though (angband -mgcu).

Steps to reproduce: Install and run Angband 4.1.2-1 from [community].

Works for me.

Can you check if /usr/share/angband/fonts/10x20x.fon exists?
And if so, perhaps trace with 'strace angband -mx11'?

/usr/share/angband/fonts/10x20x.fon does exist.

Hmm that output doesn't tell me much unfortunately. My guesses are that it either has to do with angband configuration or your locales.

Since it is a fresh install of angband, there is no configuration, yet.
I did an install of an older version from the arch archive that I know it did run in the past with the same error. So it might be something with my machine.

Installing xorg-fonts-misc indeed did the trick. Thank you. It's happy playing angband for me now.
