DetailsUsing KMail 1.9.5. on KDE 3.5.5. from the standard Arch packages I twice experienced sudden mail loss using a disconnected imap account. That is, when I first looked I had about 1500 mails in my inbox. At second glance, they were only 144. I'm using this on a Laptop that is wifi connected. Perhaps this disturbs the synchronization process in some way. This report may have something to do with http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104956 and not with something Arch specific, so my apologies if this bug shouldn't be here.
