Details

The kdelibs-3.5.5-5 PKGBUILD currently in extras do not build. It fails with this message:
==> Validating source files with MD5sums
kdelibs-3.5.5.tar.bz2 ... Passed

The md5sum of the physical xdg-icon-lookup.patch as downloaded by abs has this cheksum 3627a48526fefa2fe2beeff43f35ac0f while the PKGBUILD expect this md5sum f7abfe849e5122dd01d6b8a884999da0 for that file.

Another problem, after changing the md5sum in the PKGBUILD the patch is rejected due to changes in the source code, which prevents the package from building.

I made a rediff of xdg-icon-lookup.patch that resolves those issues, but I keep the "module", "qtplugins" entries in the kdecore/kstandarddirs.cpp which your previous patch removes. I dunno the technical reasons why those entries where removed, I keep them in my copy and only add definitions to xdgdata-pixmap since xdgdata-icon is already defined. So maybe you'll need to check that before replacing the patch.

I just discovered this problem myself and was coming here to post a bug. I have nothing to add, just wanted to vote for getting this fixed.
