DetailsDescription:
Clipboard sharing doesn't work under Gnome Wayland session because vmtoolsd segfaults. Additional info: * package version: community/open-vm-tools 6:10.2.0-1 * dmesg: kernel: vmtoolsd[1056]: segfault at f0 ip 00007f2d5da0fcf2 sp 00007ffec7128a08 error 4 in libgdk-3.so.0.2200.26[7f2d5d9cb000+ed000] * upstream bug report: https://github.com/vmware/open-vm-tools/issues/226 Steps to reproduce: Run Gnome Wayland session as vmware guest with community/open-vm-tools. Try to use clipboard sharing feature. To fix: I modified the ABS PKGBUILD to cherry-pick this commit as suggested in the github issue: https://github.com/vmware/open-vm-tools/commit/c5bc784da611ee929e0da7c20a410e03e6540613 Can confirm that it stops the segfault and fixes clipboard sharing. Is that patch something the community package would be willing to carry or should I publish an AUR package? Attached is the PKGBUILD I used to test the patch. |
