Description:

GPU hangs occasionally. Upstream bug report is at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104545.

A fix is now available, but is not yet in the main branch.

The required firmware is included in Arch's linux-firmware, but the fix also requires a kernel patch.

This is a request for the fix at https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_csr.c?id=4f0aa1fa3e3849caee450ee5d14fcc289cf16703 to be applied to the kernel supplied by Arch's linux package. This was suggested in the forums at https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1765705#p1765705.

Additional info:

linux: 4.15.1-2

Steps to reproduce:

Issue is hardware-specific and sporadic. Cannot be reproduced at will. However, all relevant information from the GPU dump is available at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104545.
