DetailsThe invest applet, which I assume is part of the gnome-applets package, doesn't work. When you do a "Add to panel" and select Invest, it brings up a dialog window that says, "The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:Invest_Applet". Do you want to delete the applet from your configuration?"
So, I tried running invest in a terminal window to get an error code. It just simply said "Command not found". I used the Search for Files feature to find what I believe to be the script to start Invest at /opt/gnome/libexec/invest-applet When I tried running that it gave the following [me@mycomputer ~]$ /opt/gnome/libexec/invest-applet (invest-applet:3549): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library. Using the fallback 'C' locale. Running installed invest, using [/opt/gnome/lib/python2.4/site-packages/:$PYTHONPATH] Data Dir: /opt/gnome/share/gnome-applets/invest-applet Traceback (most recent call last): File "/opt/gnome/libexec/invest-applet", line 23, in ? import invest, invest.applet, invest.defs File "/home/jan/cvs/extra/gnome/gnome-applets/pkg/opt/gnome/lib/python2.4/site-packages/invest/applet.py", line 7, in ? gnome-python-extras should be a dependency for the applet to work.
