Reason for closing:  Upstream
Additional comments about closing:  I'll apply a patch happily if upstream has accepted it, sadly it hasn't since 2013.

Arch Linux follows the policy of not changing the default options set by upstream and using what the upstream provides — unless strictly neccessary for making it work or follow common practices in Arch Linux.¹ In this case the upstream should patch the program. As soon as the upstream applies the patch and release the next version, it will be upgraded in Arch Linux (if it is not, please mark it as out-of-date).
