The current 3.x builds are quite bad. There is a lot of untested, yet-to-implement features from the GTK2 version. It would be highly preferable if we go back to GTK2 (0.x) versions.

Pressing the hotkey to open the terminal is quite laggy compared to the GTK2 version too. I see python tracebacks like "Python traceback: ^\s\sFile\s\".*\",\sline\s[0-9]+ line starts by 'Filename:line' pattern" inside a textbox. That's how flaky this is. I understand these are upstream issues, but wanted to let you guys know.

Can we please not put this in community repos please?

Blame upstream. They released version 3.0.0 as stable. I think that major features work as expected, minor issues can be reported to upstream. You can package the old guake yourself in AUR if you want.
