Please consider re-building mplayer with lirc support. Since lirc is split in two packages, lirc for the modules
and lirc-utils for the libs and binaries, you only need to have lirc-utils in the dependency list.
Also remove the "--disable-lirc" configure option or replace it with "--enable-lirc".
It should save us MythTV/HTPC Arch users an extra compilation on updates. Thanks.

This seems to be fixed with recent release of rc1-2, although lirc support is still broken. I get
mplayer: could not open config files /home/cromo/.lircrc and /etc/lircrc
when I run mplayer. Looks like it needs some patch to correct the paths, as bu default lirc has its config file in /etc/lircd.conf on arch.

@David: working perfectly here, lircd.conf is something completely different than lircrc. Read the lirc documentation.
