DetailsDescription: The R plugin for TeXmacs did not install a tm_r executable in it's plugins directory. This causes R sessions to show "Busy..." and "R]" and not allow the user to evaluate any code.
The R plugin developer for TeXmacs informed me of the problem in the comments thread to this blog post: https://mltthinks.wordpress.com/2012/12/03/15/ Additional info: This is for TeXmacs package version 1.99.5-2. Comment from the R plugin maintainer when investigating the Manjaro installation on my operating system (Manjaro): "Indeed R doesn’t work under TeXmacs. In my installation, this is because for some reason the interface between R and TeXmacs, called tm_r, isn’t installed. It should be under /usr/lib/TeXmacs/bin I’m not sure why. I was trying to install TeXmacs from the source, but I was having problems (with guile). Do you know how to recompile the TeXmacs package in manjaro? OK, actually I don’t need to compile all of TeXmacs, just tm_r. It seems there’s a problem with the compilation, which can be solved by adding a line #define HAVE_PTY_H to the source code, or compile with -D HAVE_PTY_H Maybe I should tell the package maintainer. So, you can compile that file in the TeXmacs source and put it in said directory (in the source directory go to plugins/r and type make)." Steps to reproduce: 1. open TeXmacs. 2. Click the Sessions icon (it looks like a computer monitor). 3. Select R from the dropdown menu. 4. A session textblock should appear "Busy..." 5. A broken session prompt should appear "R]" |
