python2-libappindicator is related to Ubuntu, it shouldn't needed for most users.

libappindicator is related to SNI, and is needed by a lot of people.

Uhhhhhh...

The package description in our repos (which indicates a package useful for Arch Linux users, not Ubuntu users), states "Allow applications to extend a menu via Ayatana indicators in Unity, KDE or Systray"
Indicating that Systray and KDE users might find it handy as well. ;) In fact, there is a reason the package base was added to the repos.
