Details

The system files from /usr/share/higan need to be copied to ~/.local/share/higan, not ~/Emulation.

~/Emulation tree will be created by icarus when user import ROMs.

Something like this:

higan needs the system files located in /usr/share/higan to be present inside
your ~/.local/share/higan directory, please copy them over before using the emulator.
Use the icarus tool to create ~/Emulation directory tree with your ROMs.

And please install icarus.desktop to make things easier.

Well, icarus can be opened from "Library -> Import ROM files ...". So icarus.desktop is not too important after all.

Finally took the time to address that. Instead of modifying the install message, I patched higan so that it looks for those files in their respective directories in /usr/share. You no longer need to copy them manually.
